IMG_7615

Annually, Pantone Inc. names a specific “Colour of the Year” (well this year they named 2! Rose Quartz & Serenity).  After presentations, debates, and a lot of analyzing – a colour is deemed the top choice for the year ahead.  Fashion, Interior, Beauty, Floral, etc designers use these as a source of guidance for upcoming designs and trends.

So – what does this mean for your nails this time of year? Well – it means it is time to do away with the dark burgundies and navy polishes of winter and brighten it up a bit with spring’s “it” colours. Here is a list of our faves of the moment:

Dusty Hues of Blue:

Blues have been having their moment in the spotlight throughout the winter as a favourite polish choice – but move over electric – it’s pale blue’s turn! Creamy pastels are the new neutral & they go great with anything.

Subdued Sages:

This earthtone can replace your winter grey polish. It is subtle but very on-trend, so add it to your “spring staple” list.

Electric Lilacs:

Save neons for summer. Springtime’s electric shade of the moment is lilac! This soft purple seems to compliment every skin tone.

Creamy Cappucinos:

Think of toasty browns with a matte finish as a new “basic” – like that camel shoe or handbag. It pairs perfectly with the emerging colours of spring.

Pops of Pink:

Soft blushes to bright raspberry – any shade you pick in this super feminine colour is the epitome of Spring. Pink is the perfect pop for a dark outfit!
